Halloween!!!

Happy Halloween!!  I know, I know!  I have been absent for quite awhile.  I have been on the road to several quilt shows and even my dearly beloved has complained that I haven't been home!  So, now that I have been home for almost two whole weeks...I have been sewing up a storm and have lots to share. So here are pictures to see.  Some are for the Christmas in October Craft Show in the neighborhood and the really cool Halloween stuff is for home!  I have Bunko tonight and it is here at my house and next week Stitchers group is here at my house too!  So, this will keep me really busy to. Oh, and I get to go to the quilt show in Houston the beginning of November. Spectookler!!!  I can hardly wait, that is the quilt show to end all quilt shows.

So here are the pictures, if you see something you like, let me know....

Got this idea at Babylock Tech/Amazing Designs!  The tablerunner is from AllAboutBlanks website.

Kitchen towels with Anita Goodesigns embroidered on them.

Wine bags made from fat quarters with Anita Goodesigns embroidered on them.

The rest of the kitchen towels with more Anita Goodesigns embroidered on them!!

Sure wish I could figure out how to turn the pictures around?  Hopefully, you can see them ok.  They are really cute!!  Well, I must go finish some more stuff and get ready for tonights Bunko group, they are always so much fun!  Let me know what you think of the projects, and I am trying to come up with a really cool Bible Bag?  Any ideas on that???

Monday, Again!!!

I worked on another tote bag for a friend that is on her way to the holy land this September.  Sue is such a sweet person.  The tote should be able to hold all those travel goodies for her, just like it does for me on all my sewing and quilt show adventures!!!  She chose beautiful fabrics for it, here is a picture!!!

Now I must go finish a silk jacket that I will be wearing while I am at the ASG Convention in Los Angeles, CA later in the week!!!  I hope to finish it today, and get a picture of it posted.  It is a dusty rose pink!!  It is still way to hot and dry here in Texas, and we are still praying for rain!!!  Till Later!  God Bless to all of you.

Madrid/Torrejon High School Reunion!!

WOW!!!  What a great weekend.  Visiting with all of my high school friends from Spain.  It was definitely a busy, and a great time for all of us.  Saturday night was a dress-up night for us, so some of ladies decided to go in our school colors!!  Cherry-Red and Silver.  We definitely looked great as the picture will show all of you.  This is Nancy Snook and I all decked out!!!

I will be leaving for the American Sewing Guild Conference on the 17th of Aug.  This is going to be a great conference.  I will be working for OLISO and getting in some conference time too.  So, for those of you going, come by and see me in the booth and check out the only iron that does push ups, or catch up with me in the morning classes.

So, before I leave I will be sewing up a storm to get some more pictures of projects completed onto the blog for you.  Stay cool, stay inside and sew!  Texas is so hot right now.....102 and up!!!  God Bless all of you.

Monday, Monday!!!

I have started the Halloween projects!!  Here is the first one, and it is turning out to be really nice.  I designed the layout around the panel myself.  I sent a picture to my Mom and she was impressed and quite pleased with the colors of it.  I will bind it with plain black fabric.  I picked the panel up at a quilt show last year, and finally found fabric at fabric.com for it this year.  Those are creepy crawly spiders on a green background!!!  The purple has witches flying on brooms.

I will quilt it after I get back from the ASG Convention at the end of August.  So, here is a picture of it, then I will start on a fall table runner, with fabric that Mom bought for me last year!!!

Round Things

This table topper has been on the cutting mat for awhile!  But it is finally finished!  I have done the binding twice!!!  Seems it is going to curl around the edge, no matter what!   This project also called for a 22 1/2 degree ruler.  That was fun to find here in the state of Texas.  I finally found it in NJ!!!  But, what the heck it is finished, it is pretty!! and there is still one more to do. I used fat quarter batiks for the entire project!!!

I found this project in  a book called "Quilt as Desired" by Charlene C. Frable.  Lots of really nice projects and great hints in this book.

Friday!!!

It has been awhile since I posted!  The quilt show was great. You can't take pictures of the quilts, but boy did I soak up the beauty!!!  This quilt show is moving to Grand Rapids, MI next year!!  It will be bigger and more interesting and supposedly better than ever.  So get ready ladies and enter your best quilts, big or small.

I have been busy since I returned home.  I finished up a really darling hand bag.  Abigal's Purse by Tote's by Sandy!!  I picked the pattern up at the Salt Lake Quilt Festival.  It went together in just a couple of hours and only took a couple of yards of my favorite Laurel Burch fabric.  So here is a picture for you to see!!!

AQS-Knoxville, TN

Wow!! It is beautiful and green here in Knoxville, TN!!!  I have finished setting up the booth for OLISO and am all ready for tomorrow.  I can hardly wait for the rush of people and to see all the beautiful quilts on display.  I will have to take pictures with my IPAD and get them up on the blog after I get home for everyone to see. So for now I will enjoy the humid weather, and the possibility of rain here!!! TTFN

TGIF

It has been a busy week!!!  Mom came for a visit over the 4th of July and we had a great time.  We played in my sewing room while Dennis played golf.  So everyone was happy over the 4th of July.  After Mom went home to Fort Worth I got myself busy designing a new quilt block on muslin.  The old paper piece idea, only on muslin!  Not quite finished with them yet as I want to add some embroidery stitches to them, but here are some pictures.  One is with patriotic fabics and one is with some fall fabrics.  Now I am off to work on a jacket.

4th of July

WOW!  It is almost that time of the summer!!  We will be celebrating out independence and freedom.  Let us not forget our men and women in uniform while we are eating hot dogs and hamburgers.  Bow your heads and send a prayer for their safety winging their way sometime during your festivities.  If it wasn't for them we wouldn't be able to enjoy our independence and freedom!!!  Thank GOD for our Airmen, Soldiers, Sailors and Marines!!!

Now I will get back to the sewing theme!  I spent the morning with an absolutely wonderful woman named Jenny!!!  She wants an embroidery machine, and I do believe she will be talking her hubby into one in the near future!!  We sewed out an eagle on mine in a little over 43 minutes and she was so impressed.  We talked about clothes, fabric, thread, quilts......and before you know it, it was 2pm.

Now I will be working on another tablerunner for the 4th of July, really must get busy and get it finished so I can post a picture of it here!  I have embroidered 4 blocks to go in it.  One of them is the eagle with the word Freedom in it.

Have a great day and remember, the will of God will never take you where the Grace of God will not protect you!!!!

So I will post some pictures of what I have been up to here in my room while it has been so hot outside!   The first one is a note pad holder for keeping your grocery list!  Let me know what you think!

This is a Quilters caddy from a Fons & Porter show that watched on 7May!
